We weirdly have 2 female ginger tabbies arrive in the rescue recently. We introduced Xena a few days ago. This is Sunny. They aren’t related, and as you may know, they are both unusual as most ginger tabbies are boys. Sunny has the saddest story. She was found by a local contractor who was renovating a property. Each day, as he worked, Sunny would shadow him, even having lunch with him in his work van. When the job was over, the contractor got to worrying about her, so he asked the neighbors whose cat she was. They told him the family who had lived in the house he was renovating had thrown her and 6 other cats out in the yard when they left. No one knows what happened to the other 6. This poor baby was starving and rail thin, but had somehow survived long enough for help to come. Our hero contractor has a large dog with a high prey instinct, so she couldn’t stay with him. He called a bunch of rescues but no one could help. Everyone was full. But we couldn’t turn her away, so we squeezed her in! She got fixed today and will be looking for a forever home after August 25. Based on her size, body shape, and teeth, we think Sunny is 6 months to a year old. She’s very sweet and loves to be petted. Please apply if you can help us give this sad story a fairytale ending .
