Our friend, leader and mentor Louise passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2024. Louise was heavily involved in the local rescue community, eventually forming K’s Kitten Rescue. She touched thousands of lives, both human and feline. Her mission was to promote, support and execute Trap Neuter Release programs, and find placement for kittens and cats whose owners could no longer keep them.
While the rescue has been foster-based since its inception, Louise’s dream was to see the rescue in its own space. She dreamt of either a small piece of property with a home or an actual “retail” space in the area that would feature the rescue and partner with local businesses, professionals and organizations.
As you can imagine, we are all crushed by the loss of our friend, our mentor and our leader. While we are reeling from this loss of unimaginable magnitude, we are still doing our best to honor her. K’s Kittens was part of her lifeblood and her magnum opus. Louise may not be with us physically any more but her vision remains, as does the need for its fruition. She is now our guiding star.
